We booked a two night stay with our dogs while some friends were staying at a hotel in lake placid. We loved the quiet of the place. The cabin was warm and comfortable. I grilled steaks on the propane grill our first night. While it provides that secluded feeling, everything you may need is very close by.
It was our wedding anniversary and we spent the evening at Sunset Bistro. The food was outstanding, from the appetizers, our main course and desert. Our desert came with Happy Anniversary in chocolate on the plate. Our server, Zoe, was top notch. She recommended excellent wine choices and menu choices. There was also live entertainment! A perfect night!
We had a great stay in the Oak Cabin. Brian was very responsive and made check in easy. The cabin was spotless and had great views of the lake with a fox walking through at night and birds everywhere in the morning. Walked around the grounds it's a great little resort can't wait to be back!
Sunset Bistro is the best restaurant experience in the region. Especially on a pleasant evening on their great deck overlooking Ambersand Bay of Lower Saranac Lake. Food was excellent, and the service unbeatable. Great vibes all around.
We've been coming here for the last 15 years. Each year gets a little bit better, but two things stood out this year. First, the staff's hospitality has been amazing. They go above and beyond to make the stay memorable. Huge shout out to Owen for his patience with our kids and great insight to the area and things to do. Second, Sunset Bistro is a great addition. The food, staff and views are unparalleled. Looking forward to next year already.
Our group of hikers stayed in the Presidential Suite from June 8-10... Unbelievable! The Saranac Lake location is wonderful, and we were able to take advantage of a pontoon boat tour of the lake. The suite is ideal for a peaceful overlook of the lake. The restaurant is also amazing. Based on our experience, the food ranks best in the region - topping the 'over-hyped' restaurants in Lake Placid.
Upon arrival, the door to our cabin (Cedar) was wide open, with towels on the floor and the beds not made. I called and left a message. Brian quickly called me back and apologized that there was an issue getting the booking from Expedia. We were offered drinks/food while the cabin was cleaned. Appreciated the quick assist. I understood that it was a rustic cabin, but the exterior could use some maintenance... A couple of broken window panes, boards coming off the cabin, shingles very old... However, I was surprised by the inside of the cabin. Everything was clean and working appropriately. We look forward to returning.
Absolutely stunning location only matched by stunning team. The level of attention and care was wonderful. Clearly everyone working here cares about the guests and wants to make sure you have a memorable and enjoyable experience. Cannot wait to return and enjoy this beautiful setting.
